In a significant decision, the Delhi High Court has ruled against reopening the CBSE revaluation portal, which has left 1.27 lakh students voicing grievances over alleged discrepancies in the digital evaluation process. The court highlighted that such a move could delay the academic futures of over 70 lakh students.
Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, representing CBSE, argued that reopening the portal would disrupt the university admission process for students nationwide. Conversely, the NSUI, which filed a Public Interest Litigation, suggested a limited reopening of the portal to address specific grievances, underscoring the systemic issues in the On-Screen Marking system.
As concerns loom over fairness and transparency in evaluations, the NSUI emphasizes the broader implications of errors, particularly with blurred scans and incomplete uploads affecting students' academic prospects. The case reflects a larger debate on the reliability of digital assessment methods amid technical glitches acknowledged by CBSE itself.
