Noida International Airport Launches First Flight, Honoring Local Farmers

The Noida International Airport commenced its commercial flight operations with an inaugural flight to Lucknow, featuring a delegation of farmers who contributed land for the airport. The airport is set to become a major aviation hub, with plans to expand its passenger capacity significantly in the coming years.

Noida International Airport marked a significant milestone as its inaugural commercial flight took off for Lucknow on Monday. This historic event not only commenced scheduled operations but also honored the contribution of local farmers from the Jewar region, whose land facilitated the airport's construction.

The flight carried a special delegation led by Jewar MLA Dhirendra Singh, comprising farmers who generously donated their lands. These individuals are set to meet with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Lucknow, underscoring the symbiotic relationship between local communities and the development of major infrastructure projects.

Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu highlighted the farmers' vital role in transforming the region into a burgeoning aviation hub. Speaking at the launch event, Naidu outlined the airport's ambitious expansion plans, aiming to handle up to 70 million passengers annually in future phases, thus positioning it as a leading airport in Asia.
