Trinamool Congress youth leader Soumitra Banerjee faced an egg attack while being escorted to court by the police on Tuesday. Authorities managed to bring the situation under control, ensuring Banerjee's safe passage to court.
Banerjee's arrest followed a complaint by BJP leader Ravi Keshari, accusing him of assaulting BJP workers. In a related incident, TMC leader Kunal Ghosh was also targeted with eggs by a local youth. Ghosh condemned the assault, deeming it "unfortunate" and attributing it to "miscreants from the BJP."
Ghosh stressed that the attack would not deter him, having already lodged a complaint with the Police Commissioner. Despite facing further potential threats, Ghosh maintains an unwavering stance, insisting that he will not change his principles under pressure. He openly criticized the police for their passive role during the incident.
