Schools, colleges to be closed for 3 more days in Dharwad dist of Karnataka

The Deputy Commissioner of Dharwad, Deepa Cholan has announced that the schools and colleges will be closed for three more days in Dharwad district of Karnataka because of the continuous rainfall in the region, according to news agency ANI.

Torrential rain that lashed Dharwad in the last few days continued to play havoc with the lives of the people in the district. Yesterday, the city received heavy rain since the early hours and several low-lying residential areas were inundated. Residents had a tough time in clearing stormwater that gushed into their houses.
Shivamogga district administration also declared a holiday for schools and colleges (government and aided) yesterday due to incessant rains. The schools and colleges were announced to be closed in Sagar, Thirthahalli, and Hosanagara areas of Malnad region.
