Pakistan has closed Wagah-Attari border for bilateral trade just a couple of days after India announced the decision to scrap Article 370 which gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir. The decision was taken at a high-level meeting which was also attended by Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan. The Pakistani government has also expelled Indian high commissioner.

Indian government's move to revoke the special status of Jammu and Kashmir and bifurcate the border state into two Union territories secured Parliament's approval on Tuesday with the Lok Sabha passing the new measures with an over two-thirds majority. The Rajya Sabha had given its approval to the resolution the day before.

Indian President Ram Nath Kovind on Wednesday announced that the provisions of Article 370 of the Constitution, which gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir, have been abrogated.
