Alliance Air Delhi-Jaipur plane catches fire, makes emergency landing

An Alliance Air plane bound for Jaipur caught fire and was forced to make a landing at Delhi Airport, according to media reports. The incident happened on the Air India 91643 Delhi to Jaipur flight at around 9 pm.
The plane took off but landed back at the Indira Gandhi International Airport just after a few minutes and while making the emergency landing it caught fire.
All the passengers are safe and have been evacuated. According to the reports, the aircraft had issues in its landing gear.
Delhi airport officials stated that "full emergency" was declared for the Alliance Air flight and it landed safely at the airport here at around 8:30 PM.
"The Alliance Air flight made an emergency landing at the Delhi airport due to a problem in the nose landing gear and some material failure", the spokesman said.
Alliance Air is a subsidiary of Air India. Air India said in a statement, "Alliance Air Flight 9I643 from Delhi to Jaipur has air returned to Delhi due to a technical glitch and has landed safely. All 59 passengers are safe. Further update on this will be shared in due course."
