At least seven Taliban terrorists have been killed in Kapisa province of Afghanistan, according to local media reports. Two civilians including one child were also killed in fire exchange with the insurgents.

The Taliban members were killed during an operation conducted by Afghan military in Hajiyan and Nizam Khel villages of Nijrab district of the province. The operation that left five Taliban militants wounded took place on Monday night.

The Taliban is yet to make a comment about the incident.

Although the war-torn country is trying to make a peace pact with the Taliban through dialogues and summits in a hope to bring security and stability in the country whereas the other large threat that is looming over and even expanding in the country is of Islamic State (IS).

The terrorist group carried out a suicide blast at a wedding reception in Afghanistan's capital that killed 63 people and wounded 182 others.

The Saturday night attack came as the Taliban and the United States try to negotiate an agreement on the withdrawal of US forces in exchange for a Taliban commitment on security and peace talks with Afghanistan's US-backed government.

Islamic State (IS) fighters, who first appeared in Afghanistan in 2014 and have since made inroads in the east and north, are not involved in the talks. They are battling the government and US-led international forces and the Taliban.
