The federal government of Nigeria has approved the injection of N600 billion into the electricity market of the country, according to local media reports. Edmund Ejie, the market operator of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) announced the news on Wednesday saying that the fund is due for disbursement anytime soon.

The fund is for the rectification of shortfall in invoices for the electricity market, the TCN operator said in a statement.

He also stressed that the move by the federal government is for the entire market, not for any particular subsector.
