A Ukrainian court has released Russian journalist Kirill Vyshinsky on personal recognizance on Wednesday after he pledged that he will attend court hearings upon first demand, according to a report by Russian media platform RT.
Vyshinsky, the head of Russia's state-backed RIA Novosti news agency in Ukraine, was arrested last year and accused of supporting pro-Russian separatists. Vyshinsky faces up to 15 years in jail if convicted of the charges.
Vyshinsky was arrested during heightened tensions when RIA Novosti Ukraine was being blamed by Ukrainians for "participating in a hybrid information war" waged by Russia against Ukraine.
