Puducherry Chief Minister N Rangasamy issued directives on Wednesday to health officials to intensify measures aimed at preventing dengue and other viral fevers across the Union Territory.

During a meeting that included representatives from the Health Department, Vector Control Research Centre (VCRC), and municipal bodies, Rangasamy emphasized the need for extensive fogging operations in all regions including Puducherry, Karaikal, Mahe, and Yanam. 'Keep the outbreak of dengue and other viral diseases at bay,' he urged the officials.

The chief minister also ensured that all hospitals, including primary health centers and community health centers, are stocked with necessary medicines, blood, and other resources to handle any emergency, according to a release from his office. Secretary to Health of Puducherry government M. Raju and other officials are tasked with maintaining vigilance on the ground situation.
