Modi Inaugurates Visionary Healthcare in Varanasi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi opened the R J Sankara Eye Hospital in Varanasi, aimed at providing comprehensive eye care across eastern Uttar Pradesh and neighboring regions. Operated by the Kanchi Math, this is the 14th such hospital in India, with plans to perform 30,000 free eye surgeries each year.
Modi's inauguration is part of a broader visit to Varanasi that includes initiating several developmental projects across India, worth Rs 6,100 crore. He was greeted at Lal Bahadur Shastri Airport by Governor Anandiben Patel and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, before proceeding through a petal-strewn route accompanied by drumbeats.
Prior to the hospital opening, Modi engaged with the Shankaracharya of the Kanchi Math and toured a local exhibition in the presence of Patel and Adityanath. This marks a significant step in enhancing healthcare accessibility in underserved regions.
