Pope Francis is currently battling double pneumonia and remains hospitalized at Gemelli Hospital in Rome. While not in danger of death, his condition is described as unstable, according to Dr. Sergio Alfieri.

The Pope, aged 88, was admitted on February 14 after experiencing breathing difficulties. Double pneumonia, a significant infection that affects both lungs, can lead to inflammation and scarring, severely impacting breathing.

Although the Pope manages some work from an armchair, his medical team expects him to remain in the hospital for at least another week. Doctors mentioned that while he doesn't have sepsis, there is a potential for the infection to spread, considering his fragile health history.
