A 22-year-old MBBS student, Rahul Ghosalya, originally from Rajasthan, faced a life-threatening situation after suffering a brain stroke in Kazakhstan. On Monday evening, he was successfully airlifted to Jaipur for further medical assistance.
Rahul, a resident of Jaipur's Shahpura, has been studying medicine in Astana since 2021. Following the stroke on October 8, he was placed on ventilator support in a Kazakh hospital. Officials said he was flown to Jaipur via air ambulance and transferred to SMS Hospital's Medical ICU for treatment.
A medical team, led by SMS Medical College Principal Dr. Deepak Maheshwari, is overseeing his care. Rahul's family had earlier taken to social media to seek help from central and state authorities to bring him back to India. This collective effort, which included support from several social organizations, ensured his safe evacuation.
