With Cyclone Ditwah looming, the Tamil Nadu health department is taking proactive steps to ensure public safety. Health Minister Ma Subramanian announced that medical teams would be deployed around the clock in all government hospitals to manage any health emergencies arising from the heavy rains forecast by the IMD.

The cyclone, expected to impact the north Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and south Andhra Pradesh coasts by November 30, has prompted preparations for uninterrupted power supply in hospitals. The health department is also ready to set up special medical camps if fever-related cases are reported among more than two individuals in any area.

Further, Subramanian highlighted the state's progressive schemes for transgender welfare, noting Tamil Nadu's unique role in establishing a welfare board specifically for transgender persons. Recent measures include distributing skill training certificates and financial grants, illustrating the state's commitment to inclusive social progress.
