The move follows the recent revelation of an illegal human egg-selling racket in Badlapur, Maharashtra. The Thane Municipal Corporation raided and sealed machines at the illicit IVF center.

Mayor Sharmila Pimpalolkar has ordered immediate checks across all IVF and sonography centers. Strict anti-illegal sonography operations are also underway, with weekly oversight mandated by local health authorities.
