Goa Medical College Launches Pioneering Cancer Survivorship Clinic
Goa Medical College has inaugurated a new clinic dedicated to ongoing support for cancer survivors. The 'After Completion of Treatment (ACT) Clinic' aims to provide long-term care, with special attention to children and young adults, focusing on survivorship care plans, monitoring, and comprehensive support services.

The Goa Medical College (GMC) has launched a novel facility providing dedicated support to cancer survivors. Named the 'After Completion of Treatment (ACT) Clinic', the initiative will focus on aiding patients even post-treatment, as announced by Health Minister Vishwajit Rane.
The clinic, particularly targeting children and young adults, offers well-structured care plans that include continuous monitoring and comprehensive services such as psychological support, nutritional guidance, and lifestyle counseling for the survivors.
With an existing registry of over 9,000 patients and a significant percentage comprising young individuals, this clinic aims to not only preserve lives but ensure quality life ahead. The initiative was formalized with a Memorandum of Understanding between GMC and the Indian Cancer Society.
