Delhi logs 18 dengue cases till May 16; malaria tally at 33: MCD

Delhi has reported 18 dengue cases and 33 malaria cases this year, with no related deaths, according to a weekly vector-borne disease report issued by the MCD.

The data further showed that the dengue cases remained stable till mid-May compared to April, when 52 infections were recorded during the month, which was nearly half of the total cases reported in the year.

Delhi also recorded 33 malaria cases this year, lower than 47 infections registered in the corresponding period last year, the data showed.

Among the 33 cases, 32 were recorded in the MCD-administered zones, while one case emerged from the NDMC-governed zone, the report said.

Among MCD zones, the west zone reported the highest number of malaria cases at 14, followed by the central zone at five. The City-SP Zone (Sadar-Paharganj), Keshavpuram, Najafgarh, Narela and South Zone reported two cases each, while Civil Lines, Karol Bagh and Shahdara South reported one case each.

The weekly report showed that no malaria and dengue-related deaths have been recorded this year so far.

In 2025, Delhi had recorded 744 malaria cases, 792 in 2024 and 426 in 2023.
