US CDC says American who contracted Ebola is in transit to Germany for care
The American who contracted Ebola in the Democratic Republic of Congo is currently in transit to Germany for care, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said on Tuesday.
Six other people who are high-risk contacts are finalizing movement plans to transit to Europe, Dr. Satish Pillai, the incident manager for the CDC's Ebola response, told reporters on a media call.
Genetic testing shows that current diagnostic tests will work with this strain of Ebola, Pillai said.
