US CDC says American who contracted Ebola is in transit to Germany for care

​The ​American who contracted ‌Ebola in ​the Democratic Republic of ‌Congo is currently in transit to Germany for care, the ‌U.S. Centers for Disease Control ‌and Prevention said on Tuesday.

Six other people who are ⁠high-risk ​contacts ⁠are finalizing movement plans to transit ⁠to Europe, Dr. Satish ​Pillai, the incident manager for the ⁠CDC's Ebola response, told reporters ⁠on ​a media call.

Genetic testing shows that current ⁠diagnostic tests will work with this ⁠strain ⁠of Ebola, Pillai said.
