Researcher has invented a new wristband which can predict aggressive outbursts in people with autism. According to the study, the device can predict outbursts 60 seconds ahead of time with 84 percent accuracy.

Northeastern behavioral scientist Matthew Goodwin has created a wearable wrist device for people with autism that monitors physiological indicators of stress.

In this study, 20 children with autism were observed who have aggressive episodes over the course of 87 hours. Goodwin and his team tracked each episode and the corresponding physiological changes.

"But those aren't magic numbers. Those are just limitations of our data set," Goodwin says. "As our data set grows and we use more sophisticated machine learning models, I think we might get more than 60 seconds."
