Congress MP and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi has condemned the shooting incident at former US President Donald Trump's rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. The attack resulted in one death and left Trump injured. Gandhi expressed his deep concern and stressed that such acts must be condemned unequivocally.

Taking to 'X', Rahul Gandhi wrote, "I am deeply concerned by the assassination attempt on former US President Donald Trump. Such acts must be condemned in the strongest possible terms." He also wished Trump a quick and complete recovery.

The shooting disrupted Trump's rally on Saturday, occurring just months ahead of the 2024 US presidential elections. Trump was swiftly escorted off stage by US Secret Service agents. Videos circulating on social media showed Trump bleeding from his ear, and one spectator succumbed to bullet injuries. The incident is under investigation, and the shooter was neutralised by US Secret Service personnel.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also addressed the incident on 'X', expressing his deep concern and calling for a strong condemnation of the violence. He extended his condolences to the family of the deceased and wished Trump a speedy recovery.
