India-Mauritius Space Collaboration to Usher in New Era: Pravind Jugnauth

Mauritius Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth emphasized the transformative potential of space cooperation between India and Mauritius, forecasting significant data flow improvements. He made these remarks during the inauguration of various projects and the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two nations in Port Louis. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar was also present at the occasion.
Jugnauth highlighted a bilateral meeting held earlier with Jaishankar, stating, 'We had truthful discussions on the future contours of a strategic partnership between Mauritius and India.' The leaders also e-inaugurated 12 high-impact community development projects set to benefit the entire population. The collaboration extends to various fields, including the launch of an India-Mauritius joint satellite.
Reiterating Mauritius' commitment to renewable energy, Jugnauth mentioned the targets set in the renewable energy roadmap 2030, acknowledging India's support in achieving these goals. He also recalled his participation in the G20 Summit and announced a new committee to revive the Ganga Talao spiritual sanctuary with India's assistance, aiming to turn it into a religious and cultural hub.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar arrived in Mauritius for a two-day visit, expressing gratitude for the warm welcome extended by Mauritius Foreign Minister Maneesh Gobin. Both nations have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral ties, with Jaishankar scheduled to meet Jugnauth and other senior ministers to discuss future cooperation.
