Former President Donald Trump, in a bid to counter Vice President Kamala Harris's presidential challenge, has dismissed calls from his allies to shift focus towards policy issues. Trump insisted he is entitled to personal attacks, stating his anger at Harris over her actions during his press conference at his Bedminster, N.J. property.

During the hour-long session, Trump addressed questions regarding suggestions from several Republicans to tone down his personal rhetoric against Harris. 'As far as the personal attacks, I'm very angry at her because of what she's done to the country,' he said, asserting his lack of respect for Harris's intelligence and predicting she would be a terrible president.

Trump remained firm on running his campaign 'my way,' despite advice from former opponent Nikki Haley. While polling shows Harris ahead of Trump in critical battleground states, the former president added new campaign staff and confirmed Ohio Senator JD Vance as his running mate. Trump aims to become only the second president to win two non-consecutive terms following his 2020 defeat.
