Dubai [UAE], August 16 (ANI/WAM): The 30th Abu Dhabi International Chess Festival was officially inaugurated by His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, at the St. Regis Hotel - Corniche.
The festival, taking place until August 25, is under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan and involves more than 2,200 players from 82 countries. Attendees included prominent figures such as Sheikh Dr. Khalid bin Humaid Al Qasimi and Taryam Mattar.
The event features 27 varied competitions, from government and school championships to international masters and junior competitions. Notable participants include the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Uzbekistan, and China. This highlights Abu Dhabi's emerging global competitiveness in the world of chess.
