In a remarkable display of solidarity, the UAE's 'UAE stands with Lebanon' relief campaign has achieved a significant milestone, amassing 1,000 tonnes of aid. The second week alone saw 2,000 dedicated volunteers collect 250 tonnes of vital supplies, including food, medicine, and shelter equipment, at Dubai Expo City.
President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, alongside Sheikh Mansour and Sheikh Theyab, has orchestrated this humanitarian effort, which is a joint venture between Dubai Cares and the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), supported by a consortium of charitable organizations. The campaign reflects the UAE's longstanding tradition of offering assistance to countries in crisis.
Spearheading the initiative, Sultan Mohammed Al Shamsi emphasized the UAE's global humanitarian leadership, continuing the vision of the nation's founding father. Abdullah Ahmed Al Shehhi, from Dubai Cares, cited the worsening situation in Lebanon, with mass exodus patterns, as a pressing reason for the UAE's swift and unified response in providing aid. Over 24 Emirati institutions have committed to this cause, showcasing an unparalleled collective effort.
