In a significant step towards combating terrorism, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump have committed to a unified approach against cross-border threats. During a joint press conference, they emphasized the need for strong action against terrorism, with a focus on Pakistan-based groups such as Jaish-e Mohammad and Lashkar-e-Tayyiba.

President Trump supported the extradition of Tahawwur Rana to India, holding him accountable for the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks. The leaders urged Pakistan to act swiftly against the perpetrators of the Mumbai and Pathankot attacks, ensuring their territory is not a launchpad for terrorist activities.

Beyond security collaboration, the US and India are advancing their civil nuclear partnership, including the potential construction of US-designed reactors in India. They aim to enhance people-to-people ties through educational collaborations, recognizing the substantial impact of the Indian diaspora in the US economy.
