In a bid for justice, the family of Karim Baloch, allegedly murdered by a government-backed 'Death Squad,' staged a sit-in protest in Turbat, Balochistan, with his remains. The protest was supported by Baloch activists who moved the body from Tump to demand accountability and action against the perpetrators.

The grieving family claims no steps have been taken to arrest those responsible for Karim's death. They have called on Turbat's citizens to join the protest and demand justice, highlighting the targeted killings of Baloch youth and the importance of collective action to cease the continuing cycle of violence.

Balochistan has long been plagued by enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings, primarily targeting those advocating for greater autonomy. Human rights organizations, including Amnesty International, have documented numerous instances of abductions and killings attributed to state forces and allied militias, which reportedly aim to suppress the Baloch independence movement.

Accusations indicate these militias, allegedly backed by Pakistani security agencies, specifically target Baloch political activists, journalists, and intellectuals. Baloch nationalist groups urge international intervention to investigate and halt the activities of these 'Death Squads,' stressing the need for global accountability to end the repression.

Amnesty International and the United Nations have repeatedly expressed concerns over the deteriorating human rights situation in Balochistan. Without international pressure, activists worry that targeted killings, like that of Karim Baloch, and the subsequent culture of fear, will continue unabated, threatening the aspirations for self-determination among the Baloch people.
