Drone Attacks Set Kuwait's Oil Sector Ablaze

A drone attack has caused a fire at the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation's Shuwaikh complex, damaging several government ministerial offices and power plants. Although no injuries were reported, the attack highlights escalating tensions as the US-Israeli conflict with Iran continues to widen in the Gulf region.

A significant fire erupted at the Shuwaikh oil sector complex, home to the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) and the oil ministry, following a drone attack, according to the Kuwaiti state news agency.

The finance ministry mentioned that the attack, attributed to an Iranian drone, inflicted substantial material damage on an office complex for government ministries. Moreover, two power generation units became inoperative after Iranian drones targeted two power and water desalination plants, leading to notable harm, as announced by Kuwait's electricity and water ministry.

Fortunately, there were no reported injuries from these incidents. This attack occurs amid rising tensions in the region, as the ongoing U.S.-Israeli conflict with Iran enters its sixth week, expanding to include strikes against Gulf Arab states that host U.S. military bases.
