Bruins G Rask exits with concussion

Boston Bruins goaltender Tuukka Rask exited Saturday's game against the visiting New York Rangers with a concussion with 1:28 remaining in the first period after a frightening goal-mouth collision that resulted in a goal for the Rangers. Rangers forward Filip Chytil was driving down the right side toward the goal, and a split-second after he unleashed his point-blank shot, he was hit by Bruins defenseman Charlie McAvoy and careened into Rask, who sustained a laceration in the exchange. Chytil was credited with his ninth goal of the season.

Replays seem to indicate Chytil would have missed Rask if not for the bump by McAvoy. The Bruins announced during the second period that Rask had a concussion and would not return.

Rask, the 2014 Vezina Trophy winner, remained down for several moments before being assisted from the ice. He was replaced by backup Jaroslav Halak. Rask was bidding to become the Bruins' all-time winningest goaltender on Saturday. His 252nd career victories are tied with Cecil "Tiny" Thompson for the most in franchise history.
