The crisis on the Jaffar Express has escalated dramatically, with over 200 coffins reportedly dispatched to Quetta, indicating grim expectations of casualties. This development comes as authorities seemingly refuse negotiation, risking military lives, according to human rights activist Amjad Ayub Mirza.

The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), responsible for the hijacking, has issued a 24-hour ultimatum for a prisoner exchange, stating that hostages will face trial in the Baloch National Court should Pakistan fail to act. The group's accusatory stance highlights allegations of state terrorism and exploitation of Balochistan's resources.

The Pakistani military rescued 190 passengers following a clash with the BLA, who continue to pose a considerable threat, warning of execution for every hour of delay. As tensions grow, fingers are pointed at Afghanistan-based militants, while the BLA's insurgency underscores longstanding regional conflicts.
