Bahrain's Call for Peace: Strengthening India-Middle East Ties

Bahrain's Foreign Minister, Abdullatif bin Rashid Alzayani, has called for all parties involved in the Middle East conflict to exercise restraint and honor ceasefire commitments, echoing India's consistent call for dialogue and peace. Speaking at the 5th India-Bahrain High Joint Commission meeting, Alzayani emphasized the potential of the recently adopted Gaza peace plan as a unique opportunity to advance regional coexistence.
Alzayani stressed that promoting peace will be Bahrain's priority during its term on the United Nations Security Council. Highlighting the historical ties between India and Bahrain which date back nearly 5,000 years to the civilizations of Dilmun and the Indus Valley, he underscored the importance of their economic partnership in advancing regional stability and shared prosperity.
Praising the Indian community in Bahrain as a testament to cultural coexistence, Alzayani reaffirmed Bahrain's commitment to deepening bilateral relations. With high-level leadership support, Bajrain aims to enhance cooperation with India. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar also expressed optimism about upcoming discussions at the High Joint Commission meeting, welcoming Alzayani to New Delhi.
