Rugby-England's Daly to leave Wasps at end of the season

England's Elliot Daly will leave Wasps at the end of the season after he triggered a release clause in his contract, the English Premiership club said on Monday. Daly, who collected 404 points in 188 appearances for the Wasps, said he felt it was time to "seek a new challenge next season".

"Despite our best efforts to keep him at the club, unfortunately he has decided to move on to pastures new," Wasps director of rugby Dai Young said in a statement. Daly, who generally plays at centre for Wasps, has been utilised as a fullback for England and also scored for Eddie Jones' side in their Six Nations win over Ireland in Dublin on Saturday.

The 26-year-old British and Irish Lion said his departure had nothing to do with the Wasps' new training ground not being completed on time. "Despite some of the rumours flying around, the training ground has nothing to do with why I've come to my decision to leave," Daly added.
