Global Solidarity Marks 67th Tibetan National Uprising Day

Tibetans in exile and international supporters gathered in Dharamshala, India, to commemorate the 67th Tibetan National Uprising Day. On Tuesday, Tibetans living in exile and their supporters from over 37 countries came together in Dharamshala, India, to commemorate the 67th Tibetan National Uprising Day. The event holds significant historical importance, marking the 1959 uprising in Lhasa against Chinese rule which led to the Dalai Lama's exile and the establishment of the Tibetan government-in-exile.

Dharamshala, known as the heart of Tibetan spiritual leadership and home to the Central Tibetan Administration, served as the focal point for the day's events, which included members of Tibetan exile communities, international activists, and representatives from Tibet support groups worldwide. The gathering aimed to express solidarity with the Tibetan people and draw attention to their ongoing political and cultural struggles.

The event featured a meeting of global Tibet support groups, with representatives such as Gunto Colonia of Associazione Italia-Tibet, who emphasized the discussions on international advocacy for Tibet. The meeting coincided with the 90th birthday of the Dalai Lama, highlighting efforts to boost global awareness and peaceful resolutions to the Sino-Tibetan conflict.
