India and China Deepen Cooperation in SCO Talks

India and China held bilateral talks in New Delhi on the future of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO). In a significant diplomatic engagement, India and China held their inaugural bilateral talks on matters concerning the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) in New Delhi. The discussions aimed at reviewing the implementation of SCO leaders' decisions and charting the future path for the regional bloc.

India's SCO National Coordinator Alok A Dimri and China's National Coordinator Yan Wenbin led their respective delegations during the consultations held on April 16 and 17. Both sides concurred on the importance of continuing mutual cooperation and conducting consultations within the SCO framework, as stated by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).

Additionally, the delegations collectively engaged with Secretary (West) Sibi George to evaluate ongoing cooperation and discuss avenues to bolster coordination, particularly in sectors like security, trade, connectivity, and cultural exchanges. The meeting underscores the commitment of both nations to sustain a dialogue within the SCO platform, enhancing regional stability and multilateral collaboration.
