In a whirlwind diplomatic tour, Iran's Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi touched down in Islamabad from Oman on Sunday evening, according to the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB). This marks Araghchi's second visit to the Pakistani capital within two days, with plans to soon head to Moscow.

His brief stop in Pakistan, arriving at the Nur Khan Airbase near Islamabad, serves as a transit point before continuing to Russia, as detailed by CNN citing Iranian sources. The visit underscores Tehran's efforts to keep the lines of communication open with Washington, despite U.S. President Donald Trump's cancellation of planned talks in Pakistan.

Araghchi's Islamabad visit is central to efforts to sustain U.S.-Iran negotiations. During high-level meetings, he shared Iran's proposal for a permanent end to the ongoing conflict with the United States. On X, Araghchi expressed doubt about U.S. commitment to diplomacy, reiterating Iran's position on a ceasefire and ending the imposed war by U.S. and Israeli forces.

Before arriving in Islamabad, Araghchi held crucial discussions in Oman with Sultan Haitham bin Tariq. Talks at Al-Baraka Palace highlighted bilateral relations and regional tensions, with Iran appreciating Oman's mediating role in fostering dialogue.

Sultan Haitham affirmed Oman's dedication to diplomatic solutions, emphasizing their role in ensuring stability in West Asia. Araghchi's tour is a pivotal moment as Tehran navigates the complex geopolitical landscape of the region.
