The grieving father of 22-year-old Vidhi Megha has urged the Indian government for the immediate repatriation of her remains after she was fatally stabbed in Canada's Niagara region. Megha, from Borsad in Gujarat, was killed on May 15 in a suspected homicide incident in St. Catharines.
Kalpeshbhai Medha, Megha's father, received devastating news from police about his daughter's death and has reached out to relatives in Canada to expedite the return of her body. 'We need to perform her final rites in India,' Medha stressed, appealing for governmental assistance.
Vidhi Megha, who moved to Canada for her education, had completed a business management course and was pursuing a Personal Support Worker Honours course. Officials and politicians are actively involved, ensuring the swift return of Megha's body, while the suspect, Joshua St Omer, has been charged with second-degree murder.
