The United States has reinforced its strategic relationship with India, focusing on digital infrastructure, research collaboration, intellectual property, and agricultural trade. This development follows a significant visit by Sarah B Rogers, US Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy, concluded on May 29, as announced by the US Embassy in New Delhi.
Her visit follows an uptick in diplomatic activities between the nations, including the recent appointment of US Ambassador Sergio Gor. Ambassador Gor emphasized Washington's commitment, stating, 'Visitors like Under Secretary Rogers demonstrate our desire to collaborate with India and strengthen this partnership.'
Central to her trip was advancing the 2025 POTUS-Modi Joint Statement and the TRUST initiative. At IIT Delhi, Rogers engaged with academic, industry, and media leaders on research commercialization and innovation. She praised the valuable US-India partnership and advocated for secure technology and trade exchanges. Public diplomacy efforts included discussions on subsea cable security and intellectual property rights at events like a 'Jailhouse Rock' screening, underscoring cooperation in the digital domain.
