Imran Hussain, the Member of Parliament for Bradford East, has expressed grave concerns regarding the mounting tensions in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). Hundreds of constituents have reportedly contacted Hussain, alarmed by the unfolding situation. In response, Hussain has reached out to the UK Foreign Secretary as the Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Kashmir, with the support of more than 50 parliamentarians.

The group is urgently seeking a meeting with Foreign Office ministers to discuss their worries over recent developments in the region. Hussain has also introduced a Parliamentary Early Day Motion, garnering increasing backing from across the House. He urged for decisive action, stating, "The government should lift the lockdown immediately, restore full communications, and reignite peaceful talks, prioritizing the respect for Kashmiri human rights."

The MP's appeal is directed toward the governments of Pakistan and PoJK, alongside the Pakistani Prime Minister, asking for immediate steps to reduce tensions and ensure the protection of Kashmiri people's rights. International voices, including the Kashmiri diaspora, human rights advocates, and community groups, have also expressed their concerns over the situation. Demonstrations and public calls for restraint, communication restoration, civilian protection, and human rights respect have been widespread amid the escalating unrest linked to governance issues, economic hardships, and reserved legislative seats in PoJK.
