PM Modi's European Tour: Strengthening Global Ties and Innovation Partnerships

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on an official European tour, visiting France and Slovakia. The trip will include high-level meetings, participation in the G7 summit, and inaugurations of pivotal innovation events, underscoring India's growing global partnerships and commitment to innovation and strategic collaboration.

At the request of French President Emmanuel Macron, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled for an official visit to France from June 13-18 and will stop in Slovakia from June 14-16, announces the Ministry of External Affairs. Initial discussions with President Macron in Nice on June 14 will focus on reviewing India and France’s bilateral relations, elevated earlier this year to a Special Global Strategic Partnership. The Prime Minister and Macron will inaugurate the 'Bharat Innovates' event, uniting startups and venture capitals from India, France, and beyond, reinforcing bilateral innovation cooperation during the India-France Year of Innovation.

Subsequently, invited by Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, PM Modi will land in Slovakia for a state visit, an inaugural tour by an Indian leader since Slovakia’s independence in 1993. The agenda features talks with Prime Minister Fico and engagements with President Peter Pellegrini to explore new cooperation avenues, echoing President Droupadi Murmu's Slovakia visit in April 2025. This leg anticipates bolstering bilateral trade, investment, and sectoral collaborations between India and Slovakia, the statement detailed.

In the third segment, Modi will attend the G7 Summit in Evian, France, scheduled for June 16-17. Discussions are set with G7 members and partners on forging stronger partnerships, economic revival, and AI deployment. On the summit’s sidelines, Modi plans bilateral meetings with global leaders.

The final stage of Modi’s visit sees him attending the VivaTech Summit in Paris on June 18, Europe’s leading tech event. He is also expected to address the Indian community in Paris. The visit symbolizes India's strategic global stance, spotlighting technology, entrepreneurship, and international cooperation. Modi’s participation marks India’s role as a pivotal global influencer, promoting deeper alliances with France, Slovakia, and the G7, while enhancing ties with the European Union, reflecting a commitment to shared global challenges.
