Blues add D Del Zotto from Ducks

The surging St. Louis Blues added defenseman Michael Del Zotto on Monday in a trade-deadline deal with the Anaheim Ducks. The Ducks will recoup a 2019 sixth-round draft pick in the deal with the Blues.

Del Zotto, a former first-round draft pick by the New York Rangers in 2008, had one goal and six assists in 35 games this season with the Vancouver Canucks and Ducks. Anaheim acquired Del Zotto from the Canucks in January for defenseman Luke Schenn and a seventh-round pick in 2020. In mid-November, the Blues were 14th in the Western Conference and next to last in the entire NHL. They have lost two of their past three games, but they went on an 11-game winning streak before that slide to move back into playoff contention.

In his 12-game run with the Ducks, Del Zotto had three assists. He has 54 career goals and 164 assists (218 points) over 601 games with the Rangers, Nashville Predators, Philadelphia Flyers, Canucks and Ducks. --Field Level Media
