Bessent meets with BOJ's Ueda, backs Japan's actions, US Treasury says
U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent discussed efforts to anchor inflation expectations and expressed "strong support" for Japan's steps to address the yen's undervaluation in his meeting with Bank of Japan Governor Kazuo Ueda, the U.S. Department of Treasury said on Tuesday.
The two officials met on Sunday on the sidelines of the G20 finance ministers and central bank governors' summit in Asheville, North Carolina.
