Bessent meets with BOJ's Ueda, backs Japan's actions, US Treasury says

‌U.S. Treasury Secretary ​Scott Bessent discussed efforts ‌to anchor inflation expectations and expressed "strong support" for Japan's steps ‌to address the yen's ‌undervaluation in his meeting with Bank of Japan Governor ⁠Kazuo ​Ueda, ⁠the U.S. Department of Treasury said ⁠on Tuesday.

The two officials ​met on Sunday on ⁠the sidelines of the ⁠G20 finance ​ministers and central bank governors' summit ⁠in Asheville, North Carolina.
