Nine persons killed in Nepal accident

At least nine persons have died while five others sustained injuries when a passenger jeep met with an accident in western Nepal's remote Bajhang district on Monday.

The incident took place when the jeep drove off the road and plunged down a mountainous slope at Masta rural municipality-1 in the district, the police said. Nine persons were killed and five others were seriously injured in the incident. The death toll is expected to rise as the rescue operation is underway, he added. "Five seriously injured are being airlifted to Kathmandu for treatment," the police added.
