Forces loyal to Libyan commander Haftar claim control of Sirte- spokesman

Forces loyal to Libyan commander Khalifa Haftar said on Monday they had taken control of the coastal city of Sirte in a rapid advance.

"The commander-in-chief decided on a well-planned, pre-emptive strike and within less than three hours we are in the heart of Sirte," said Ahmed al-Mismari, spokesman for Haftar's Libyan National Army.
