An American lawyer was arrested by Hong Kong police during a raid of a law firm linked to a national security crackdown launched on Wednesday, RTHK reported on Wednesday.

John Clancey, chairman of the Asian Human Rights Commission and a member of a group linked to pro-democracy protesters in the city, was arrested during a raid of law firm Ho, Tse, Wai & Partners, RTHK said, citing comments from one of the law firm's partners.
