Myanmar coup leader reappoints junta-era central bank governor

Myanmar ruling military on Tuesday named Than Nyein as the country's new central bank governor, reappointing him to a post he previously held, after this weeks coup against Aung San Suu Kyi's government.

The announcement was the latest in a major shakeup by the military. Than Nyein's tenure as Central Bank of Myanmar governor started in 2007, during the rule of the last military junta, and ended in 2013.
