Fake Indian Currency Notes worth Rs 5 lakh seized from Kolkata

Kolkata Police Special Task Force (STF) on Thursday morning seized Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN) with a face value of Rs 5 lakh and arrested one person from an eastern part of the city's Sealdah area, police said.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of STF officers nabbed Bablu Islam, a resident of Malda, from Sealdah area following a seizure of 250 fake notes in the denomination of Rs 2000 from his possession.

"We are probing from where he has got these FICN," a senior STF police officer said.
