A 37-year-old man and his parents were allegedly beaten up with sticks by their neighbours in outer Delhi's Mangolpuri area following a quarrel over parking of a two-wheeler, police said on Monday. The incident took place on Sunday night when victim Kapil, a Rohini resident, came to meet his parents in Mangolpuri, they said. Diler Singh and his three sons -- Sher Singh, Armaan and Sibbo -- attacked the victim with sticks over the issue of parking his motorcycle. Kapil’s father and mother were also beaten up by the accused when they tried to save their son, Kapil alleged in his police statement.
The victim also mentioned that both families share a history of old enmity, police said.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer) Harendra Kumar Singh said on Sunday at around 10.50 pm, a call was received at Mangolpuri police station informing that some people were trying to kill a man. When a team reached the spot, they found out that there was a quarrel between two families in which Kapil, his 55-year-old mother and father Naresh (60) got injured and were admitted at SGM by the PCR staff, he said.
The condition of the injured family is stable but they are still hospitalised, he said. On the basis of the victim’s statement, a case under sections 307 (attempt to murder) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code was registered and accused Diler and Sher were arrested, the DCP said. Efforts are being made to trace and nab the other two accused, police said, adding further investigation is underway.
