Kazakh president: formation of multipolar world "extremely painful"

The formation of a base for a multipolar world proceeds with great difficulties, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev told the Russian Izvestia newspaper in remarks published early on Wednesday. "As we see, the formation of the architecture of the modern multipolar world is proceeding extremely painfully," Tokayev was quoted as saying.

"And against the backdrop of conflicts occurring in various parts of the planet, sanctions, confrontation, and trade wars, it is quite difficult to remain optimistic."
