Iraq parliament speaker says court decision to end his tenure is 'strange'

Iraq's parliament speaker Mohammad al-Halbousi said in a video from his office on Tuesday that a court decision terminating his tenure is "strange" and he will seek clarifications.

The Iraqi Federal Supreme Court on Tuesday terminated his tenure, state media said, a decision with serious political implications that upends the career of Iraq's most powerful Sunni Muslim politician.
