U.S. Concerns Over Georgia's Foreign Agents Law

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken expressed significant concern regarding Georgia's draft law on foreign agents, likening it to strategies from Moscow. He indicated that this legislation goes against the majority of Georgians' EU integration aspirations and mentioned that the U.S. is considering responsive actions.

The United States is very concerned about Georgia's draft law on foreign agents and is looking at taking action in response to it, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said on Wednesday.

"I think (the bill), it's right out of Moscow's playbook, unfortunately, and I think it clearly counters the desire of the overwhelming majority of Georgians to move toward the EU and the EU integration. So we are looking very hard at what we can do in response to that, and I anticipate we will take actions," Blinken said.
