Tragedy in Seep River: Boat Capsizes in Madhya Pradesh, Claims Seven Lives

Seven people, including five children, lost their lives after a boat carrying 11 passengers capsized in the Seep river in Madhya Pradesh's Sheopur district. Four others were rescued. The incident occurred in Manpur, approximately 40 kilometers from the district headquarters. Rescue operations are ongoing.

In a heartrending incident, seven lives, including those of five children, were lost as a boat carrying 11 people capsized in the Seep river in Madhya Pradesh's Sheopur district, according to local authorities.

The tragedy unfolded at 4:30 pm near Manpur, located some 40 kilometers from the district headquarters, and involved local residents of the Mali (gardeners) community who had come to mourn the death of an acquaintance.

While four individuals were successfully rescued, a State Disaster Response Force team continues to search the site amid speculation that a storm or whirlpool may have caused the disaster. Meanwhile, MP Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has ordered an extensive search and rescue effort and dispatched state energy minister Pradyuman Singh Tomar to the scene.
